A certified translation with the same value as paper
A certified translation attests that the translated text faithfully reflects the original document. Until now, that attestation meant a handwritten signature and a rubber stamp on paper. With ecertified.ch, ABC Translation Sàrl applies a qualified electronic signature (QES) and an electronic company seal directly to the PDF instead.
Under Swiss law, a qualified electronic signature is equivalent to a handwritten signature (Art. 14 para. 2bis of the Code of Obligations). The document looks exactly the same: letterhead, certification statement, stamp, signature. What changes is invisible to the eye: two cryptographic layers that prove who signed and that the document has not been altered.
Verifiable in three seconds
Each translation carries a unique number and a QR code. The recipient can verify the document on our website, open it in Adobe Acrobat or upload it to the Swiss Confederation's official validator. If the authority still refuses the electronic format, we produce the signed paper version and you only pay the difference.
Is a certified translation in PDF valid in Switzerland?
Yes. A qualified electronic signature is equivalent to a handwritten one under Art. 14 para. 2bis CO. Each recipient remains free to ask for a paper original, which is why we produce the paper version for the price difference if it is refused.
How much does a digital certified translation cost?
The price depends on the number of pages and the languages, with a minimum of CHF 90 per order. You receive a fixed price before any work begins.
